What is Alma Opus® Plasma?

The Opus® Plasma device from Alma Lasers is a new skin resurfacing solution that uses proprietary Fractional Plasma® technology. It offers treatment applications similar to many other leading skin resurfacing technologies, but through a safer treatment experience that requires less downtime for patients.

How Does Opus® Plasma Work?

Opus® Plasma uses plasma energy instead of traditional light-based laser energy. Plasma is an ionized gas that can be heated up to produce similar cosmetic benefits, but with a higher degree of control. Opus® Plasma combines this with radiofrequency energy for faster, more effective and safer treatments.

What are the Benefits of Opus® Plasma Treatments?

With its unique technologies, Opus® Plasma can treat many of the same concerns as traditional laser skin resurfacing, but with shorter treatment times and less downtime. Additional benefits include:

What Can I Expect During Opus® Plasma Treatments?

Prior to your Opus® Plasma treatment, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the skin to minimize any discomfort. Then, the handheld Opus® device will be placed over the skin to emit Fractional Plasma® energy. You may experience mild sensations of heat and pressure on the skin. Full face treatments take only 10 to 15 minutes to perform with the Opus® device.

What Can I Expect After Opus® Plasma Treatments?

There is no downtime after Opus® Plasma treatments, but you may experience redness and/or swelling in the skin that lasts up to 48 hours. During this time, you should avoid excessive sun exposure and any skin care products that may irritate the skin as it heals. Otherwise, you’ll be able to return to your normal activities immediately after your treatment.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect From Opus® Plasma?

Opus® Plasma typically produces results in just 1 treatment session, although it can take a few days or weeks for the skin to respond to treatment and produce visible results. In most cases, we’ll recommend a series of 2-3 treatments for optimal results. After the initial treatments are complete, patients can maintain their results with treatments approximately every 6 months.

What Can I Expect After My Botox® Treatment?

After your Botox® treatment, you may notice some swelling, redness, or sensitivity in the treatment area. These effects are common, and usually fade within a day or two. The Botox® formula will gradually take effect in the body, with results becoming visible within a week. There is no downtime after Botox®, so you will be able to return to work and other activities immediately.
